As Sientje from #Spotworkshops often says: learn something new every now and then. As an event florist in Schaarbeek I can always learn and I just love to do that! Taking a course gives me the space to rediscover my love for flowers. On the one hand because I can create freely, on the other hand because I am learning new techniques or being pulled out of my comfort zone.
During the multi-day course #intothewild by the Ghent florist #Elkevanderper, we were immersed as a group in sustainable flower styling. Together we made a fantastic installation in a tree on the beautiful domain where we stayed. Away from the outside world, connected together by our love for flowers. I am still very proud of the photo of our group and grateful for the nice contacts I made there.
Because of this great experience, I took part in the masterclass of #essenceofshades with dear Céline in French-speaking Belgium in 2021 (so an extra challenge ;)). Céline is a master of color combinations. Because of this she has a very unique style, which I admire a lot.
I also continue to take online courses at #AnnevanMidden. She is the Dutch flower queen of the natural style. During her lessons I can completely relax with a cup of tea and immerse myself completely in Anne's dream world. She takes her students into the beautiful individuality of nature and the seasons. Among other things, she inspired me to experiment with still lifes like this one by the great masters of painting.
In the summer of 2022 I plan a 1 on 1 session with the head florist of London's #Aesme. I am a great admirer of their beautiful pieces. Especially wild field bouquets, airy flower installations and beautifully filled vases. Who knows, maybe I'll write a blog about this unique experience later...
The women I have taken lessons with so far all have their own style and approach. But they have in common that they encourage their students to be themselves. It's just what I want to do with the #workshops I give with Aunt Fin. I want to give everyone the opportunity to do their own thing completely. I want to create a moment in which you dare to be creative and learn to discover your own nature. Because that's what I like best about every workshop, every result is different and in every piece you can recognize a part of the creator's personality.
